Consolidation of the marble covering, Campo S.Maria Formosa in Venice, 2020

The intervention concerned the left side of the building facade that showed noticeable static instability that needed to be checked and the danger of falling marble and porphyry. So we carried out the securing and the consolidation of the stone surfaces without alter the appearance of the intervention portion because we had to consider the armony between the left restored side and the right side of the building.

Clima-frame for the painting on wood of Andrea da Murano

The painting on board, which was restored by Valentina Piovan, presented various conservative problems due to bad thermo hygrometric conditions into the church. After the restoration we set up a clima-frame for the correct storage of the board that ensure stable humidity values over time, preserving it from irreparable damage and not altering its appearance and fruition. The intervention was supported by Cariparo's Foundation and the Parish of Nativity of Virgin Mary.

PALAZZO MOCENIGO

Conservative maintenance of the pictorial film of the decorated ceiling

The decorated ceiling on the first noble floor in Mocenigo's Palace, located in Sestriere di San Marco, was the subject of a process of securing and conservative maintenance of the surface, strongly altered, which showed cracks, detachments and color uplifts. The intervention was carried out by inserting retractable pins to restore static stability, the stabilization with initiations on detachments and the readjustment of the pictorial film to the support.

Conservative restoration of the facades

Conservative restoration of Palazzo Nardi, in Venice, IN PROGRESS

In this period our restorers are working in Palazzo Nardi for the conservative maintenance of the facades. They began with the concrete plaster's demoliton; then they proceed with marmorino, similar to the precedent material found, and with the restoration of the Istrian stone elements.
The works are directed by the architect Elisa Santoro under supervision of the Venetian Soprintendenza Archeologia, belle arti e paesaggio.

ISLAND OF LAZZARETTO VECCHIO

Conservation of the terracotta floor of the Tezzon Vecchio

Conservation maintenance of the terracotta floor, Venice, 2021

After the damage caused by the extraordinary high tides of 2019, the intervention of conservation maintenance of the terracotta floor of the 16th-century building of Tezzon Vecchio became necessary; This is one of the first buildings of the Lazzaretto Vecchio as health centre, historically remembered as place of default of plague victims and goods.

Restoration of the stone and decorative elements of the facades

Conservative restoration of the facades and portico of the Palace, Venice, IN PROGRESS

The work in progress at Palazzo Morosini Strozzi at San Canciano represent one of our restoration of the facades in Venice. Between the various phase carried out, we see the removal of biological patinas of the stone surface of a balaustrate by the application of biocides in a brush solution, followed by brushing and careful washing with sponges soaked in water.
The works are directed by the architect Elisa Santoro.

Conservative restoration of Tablino and Palladian Staircase

Conservative maintenance in the rooms designed by Andrea Palladio, Venice, IN PROGRESS

The conservative maintenance, in these rooms designed by Andrea Palladio, concerns the surfaces damaged by high tides in 2019. In particular we are dealing with the terracotta flooring, the bases of the artworks and the marmorini. The restoration is made possibile thanks to the support of Venice in Peril Fund⁠ ⁠

Disassembly, cleaning and assembly of monumental staircase steps

Logistic and restoration operation on the ramps of the monumental staircase of Mauro Codussi, Venice, IN PROGRESS

After the consolidation of the central vault, the conservative restoration of the staircase is continued with the dismantling of the steps of the ramps, the washing and removal of incongruous grouting. For the handling of the Istrian stone of the ramps, an ad hoc scaffolding has been created due to the considerable weight of the blocks. On the landings at half of the ramps were carried out the same operations done on the central one. The restoration was financed by The Gritti Palace and Venetian Heritage.

Monumental staircase: removal and re-installation of the landings

Preliminary operations for the conservative restoration of the monumental staircase, Venice, 2020

Before proceeding with the consolidation works on the extrados of the central vault of the staircase, the tiles that make up the floor of the landing were numbered, mapped, removed, cleaned, washed and brushed to eliminate the residues of the old bedding mortars. At the end of the consolidation works, the vault was filled again following the original stratification and repositioning the tiles as per mapping. The restoration was funded by The Gritti Palace and Venetian Heritage.

Conservative restoration of wooden dossals

Intervention on the dossals of the chapels, the central hall and on the confessionals, IN PROGRESS

Following the extraordinary high waters of November 2019, the conservative restoration of the wooden dossals of the church of San Giovanni Evangelista was necessary. The dossals have been removed from the walls to allow restoration operations on the front and back: dusting of salt deposits and efflorescence, anti-woodworm treatment, cleaning with specific solutions for the removal of more adherent deposits, integration and filling of gaps and cracks and finally, the final protective treatment by waxing.
