CHURCH OF SAN NICOLA DA TOLENTINO

Restoration of the Istrian stone pronaos

Cleaning, consolidation and grouting intervention on the surfaces, Venice, 2012

The monumental pronaos, added between 1706 and 1714 on the XVIth Century Church of San Nicola da Tolentino (known as "dei Tolentini"), was the subject of our conservative restoration intervention. The work was directed by the architect Giovanni Dalla Costa and concerned the Istrian stone and plaster surfaces, the structure and the Istrian stone covering that was remade, waterproofed and finally, according to tradition, upholstered with sheet of lead.
